The Pharisees thought that if they recited the scriptures many times, they could become righteous and be saved! No. That is wrong! We must believe with our heart and confess with our mouth. This is very important. If we do, we will be saved. By believing with our heart, we are justified. By confessing with our mouth, we are saved. We should put our heart and mouth into the path of salvation.

We have the robes of righteousness given to us graciously by Jesus Christ. But we are in sin, so we must constantly wash ourselves in wine. We cannot continue to be in sin, and misuse the grace, but rather rid ourselves of the sin. So I hope that I will constantly wash myself in wine, the Holy Spirit, to cleanse me of my sins.
Now in this path of faith, we will surely suffer, for Jesus Christ has suffered on the cross, and we must follow on the path of Christ. It is incorrect to say that there will be no suffering when you follow Jesus. It is said that once we were slaves to sin, but now we are slaves of righteousness, serving God. In the past, we suffered for no gain, ending in death, but now we suffer for eternal life and glory. This glory is God’s glory, and we must be sure to proclaim God’s glory, showing that all the things I have done are His works, and all my possessions are His possessions.
I hope to be this servant, suffering for the glory of Jesus Christ. And I hope to wash my robes constantly, ridding myself of sin in the Truth and the wine of the Holy Spirit. May our lives be ones that glorify Jesus Christ and God. Amen.

Even when someone slaps you, Jesus says, “Do not retaliate.” Rather give them the other cheek to slap. I hope we may live a life of kenosis, a life of selflessness, just as Jesus died on the cross for us and showed his love. God is saying to us, “ I will be here with you. I will not leave you, you are not an orphan.” I hope we may see this great revelation of love, and show it to others just as Jesus showed it to us.
